A job fair was held throughout the day in Burlington as CityPlace downtown continues it’s redevelopment and resurgence. Employers were looking for those aspiring for a trades career, whether that’s being an electrician, carpenter, or plumber. Those attending said in addition to work, it’s cool to be a part of history and reestablish such an important part of the Queen City. The fair also comes as state officials say there’s a big need for trade workers and that the region doesn’t have enough.”It’s a part of our agreement with the city to reach out to the public to try to get some local workers to the jobs, most of the people here are local anyway we’re all local businesses,” said Dave Farrington, a CityPlace development partner. Another job fair is expected to take place over the summer.
