The Hartford Police Department provided an update on Sunday regarding the shelter-in-place order issued to the residents of a Hartford condominium complex on Friday.Hartford PD arrived at a parking lot adjacent to the Stony Creek Condominium Complex after receiving reports of a domestic violence situation involving two elderly victims. The 72- and 91-year-old women had visible injuries, which were treated on scene by Hartford EMS before being taken to Dartmouth Health by ambulance for further treatment.When police officers went to the condominium complex to continue their investigation into the incident by speaking with John Beane, Beane shouted at officers from his second-floor window that he had a gun, and he planned to shoot them with it. This led to the officers establishing a perimeter and issuing the shelter-in-place order.After hours of unsuccessful attempts to negotiate with Beane, HPD decided to end the perimeter.The next day, emergency personnel were called back to the complex after a relative reported Beane was having a medical emergency inside his condo. After refusing treatment, Beane was taken into custody. He is being charged with one count of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, which is a felony charge, and one count of domestic assault, which is a misdemeanor offense.Beane was taken to Southern State Correctional Facility, where he was held without bail throughout the weekend, pending his arraignment on Tuesday.
