AND WITH WEATHER LIKE THAT AHEAD I’VE GOT THIS WEEKEND’S THINGS TO DO READY FOR YOU Although we have cool and showery weather in the forecast, there will be lots of events to check out today. THE JENNY BROOK FAMILY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL WILL Although we have cool and showery weather in the forecast, there will TAKING PLACE IN TUNBRIDGE, VERMONT TODAY STARTING AT 10 AM. THERE WILL BE PERFORMANCES THROUGHOUT THE DAY FROM VARIOUS ARTISTS. KIDS ACTIVITIES, LIKE LATE-NIGHT SUGARHOUSE JAMMING SESSION. IN NEW YORK, THE ADIRONDACK CENTER FOR WRITING WILL BE HOSTING SEVERAL PRIDE EVENTS IN SARANAC LAKE TODAY FROM 12:30 PM TO 9 PM. FROM 12:30 TO 2:30, YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN A WRITING WORKSHOP… WHERE YOU CAN INTERACT HANDS- ON WITH A VARIETY OF POEMS THROUGH COLLAGING AND REMIXING. PARTICIPANTS CAN ALSO FREE- WRITE POEMS AND SHARE THEIR WORK WITH OTHERS. FROM 3-5 PM, THERE WILL BE A LIVE STORYTELLING WORKSHOP, WHERE YOU CAN GET ADVICE ON HOW TO CRAFT A COMPELLING STORY AND PERFORM IT. THEN, FROM 7-9 PM, YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT ORGINAL WORKS AT THE OPEN MIC EVENT. FINALLY, ABENAKI HERITAGE WEEKEND KICKS OFF TODAY IN VERGENNES FROM 10 AM TO 4 PM AT THE LAKE CHAMPLAIN HERITAGE MUSEUM. YOU’LL BE ABLE TO EXPLORE ABENAKI PERSPECTIVES ON LIFE IN THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY AND PARTICIPATE IN A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES. THERE WILL BE STORYTELLING, CRAFT DEMONSTRATIONS, DRUMMING, SINGING, AND MORE. YOU’RE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO BRING SOME LUNCH AND ENJOY THE FESTIVITIES.

Kids activities will be offered at the Dodge Gilman Building from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A raffle will be taking place at 7:50 p.m., and the Amanda Cook Band will be hosting a late-night sugarhouse jamming session.Adirondack Center for Writing: Pride Events — Saranac Lake, NYThe Adirondack Center for Writing will be hosting several Pride events in Saranac Lake today from 12:30 to 9 p.m. First is Queer Nature, a writing workshop with Elliot Pecora, where you can explore the connection between queerness and the natural world. From 3-5 p.m., there’s a live storytelling workshop, where you can learn to craft a compelling story and perform it.
