Vermont State Police have located the body of a woman who was reported missing last week.Investigators said they located a set of human remains just after 11 a.m. on Sunday in a wooded area off Sand Hill Road in Enosburgh.On Monday, an autopsy positively identified the remains as belonging to 82-year-old Roberta Martin. Martin’s family had last spoken to her on Tuesday night. She was reported missing the following day when her neighbors were unable to locate her.A concerted search effort near her home on Butternut Hollow Road had been ongoing for days.On Monday, family member Eric Oak spoke with NBC5 by phone and expressed gratitude on behalf of the family for everyone who was involved in the search.”I’d like to thank you all; to all of the public and family, everybody from far and near came out and searched; we appreciate all your time and efforts,” said Oak. “And as a family, we want to put just a big thank you out to basically the law enforcement and game wardens, canines, search and rescues for all their time and efforts day and night trying to find her for several days. It really meant a lot to us, and we really appreciate that, so thank you all.”No one is currently in custody, and the investigation remains active and ongoing, according to police.A man who police had wanted to interview in relation to Martin’s death was arrested on Monday on unrelated charges stemming from lewd conduct outside of a school in St. Albans. Police ask that anyone with information give them a call at the Saint Albans VSP barracks: 802-524-5993.
