After he was arrested, police determined that Ibbotson had been caught on surveillance video for a separate burglary back in July where he was seen breaking into Burlington City Arts.

A judge ordered Ibbotson released on both the trespassing violation and the burglary charge with a citation to appear in court at a later time.

Less than 24 hours later, police arrested Ibbotson once again at the Marketplace Garage on Friday afternoon for once again violating his conditions of release. He was again released by a judge and cited to appear in court.

On Saturday, police arrested Ibbotson just before 11 a.m. for violating his conditions of release at a location on Buell Street. He was released by a judge with a citation.

Finally, police arrested Ibbotson just six hours later when they received a report that he was interrupting mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph and violating an trespass notice.

Police said the caller was familiar with Ibbotson from past encounters. Officers learned that Ibbotson had been escorted out of the church and locked out prior to the start of the service, but he proceeded to bang on the doors until police were called.

He was arrested for unlawful trespass, disorderly conduct and violation his conditions of release, but was once again released on a citation to appear in court at a later date.

Police said Ibbotson is well known to law enforcement and has racked up nearly 230 encounters with police since last August. He has been arrested 69 times and currently has 35 active criminal court cases pending in Vermont Superior Courts, according to police.
