A Winooski man has been charged with second-degree attempted murder after police said he tried to kill another person several hundred feet away from the Burlington Police Department.Burlington police were notified of an assault at the south end of Battery Park near Pearl Street and Battery Street just after 8 a.m. on Monday.Investigators determined that a male suspect assaulted the victim, leaving them with life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.Police later identified the suspect as 29-year-old Da’rel Shandrea Clark, of Winooski. Several hours later, police found Clark in Battery Park and arrested him. They found brass knuckles and a folding knife on his person at the time of the arrest.Clark was lodged and is being held without bail.Anyone who has additional information that could help police is asked to contact the department at 802-658-2704.
