A Winooski woman was arrested early on Monday morning after police said she fled from police during an incident the day before.The Burlington Police Department arrested 32-year-old Tiffany Billings on Monday at 1:30 a.m. after executing a search warrant at a home in Winooski.According to police, Billings was parked in a construction area between Church Street and South Winooski Avenue the morning before and was attempting to back out of a parking spot when she accelerated rapidly and nearly hit officers who were there on foot. Police said Billings was driving fast enough that they feared she would either run them over or hit a nearby police cruiser.Police told Billings to stop, but she allegedly tried backing up again, nearly striking the officers and ignoring commands. She continued to try to back up and eventually fled the area. Police were unable to locate her at the time.Billings was arrested the following morning on a slew of charges including aggravated assault, impeding public officers, eluding police and grossly negligent operation.She has been lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. Police learned that Billings has a criminal history including 4 misdemeanor convictions and 1 assault crime conviction.
