Good afternoon. We interrupt your regular scheduled programming with breaking news. We are learning of *** school shooting in Winder Georgia at the Apalachee High School. Here’s *** look at where that school is. It’s about 30 minutes away from Athens Georgia in Barrow County. That school has been in session for about *** month. Now we wanna take you live to some of the pics that we’re seeing outside the school. You can see students and now parents that are being allowed to pick up their Children mixed into those crowds in the football field outside the school. What we know right now is that there’s *** heavy police presence, school officials allowing parents to come pick up their Children. We know that there is *** suspect in custody in the Barrow County Sheriff’s office is confirming fatalities and injuries at that high school. The sheriff’s office is not releasing any numbers on just how many have been killed were shot. Our Atlanta affiliate is telling us that one person was loaded into *** helicopter you can see out there. Now people are continuing to gather outside the school. Um, as we’re learning more about this horrific incident, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp did release *** statement on the situation on X saying that he’s directed all available state resources to respond to the incident in Appalachian high School and urge all Georgians and my family to join in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state.
