A public safety forum that had been scheduled for Thursday night in Burlington has been postponed due to a family illness, Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak announced.The postponement came just hours before the event was scheduled to begin.The event will now take place on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 5:30 p.m. in the Contois Auditorium.”I recognize that this forum is an important opportunity for community members to share their concerns and ideas, and I appreciate everyone’s understanding with this rescheduling,” Mulvaney-Stanak wrote in an email announcing the change in plans.The agenda for the forum will include discussions on community safety priorities, as well as an overview of the legal procedures surrounding bail and release. Mulvaney-Stanak and other city leaders are also expected to speak on gun safety legislative priorities and allow time for thoughts and comments from community members.The event will also be livestreamed by Town Meeting TV for those who are not able to attend in person.Input for the meeting can be sent to the mayor’s office by emailing mayor@burlingtonvt.gov.
