Who let the goats out?It’s a question being asked across the globe after a TikTok video went viral showing a herd of goats making a run for it down Highway 421 in Yadkin County. The video was taken and posted by Stephanie Vestal.More than 533,000 people have now viewed the video, and it is being deemed “the goats of Yadkinville.””Only in Yadkin County,” said Ryan Hudson, who witnessed the entire ordeal with his wife Tiffany on Monday.”It was just a wild, wild day,” added Bryceson Durham, whose family owns the goats. “I didn’t think my goats would go viral.”Durham was tagged in the viral TikTok video, and that’s when it all clicked.”I was like, ‘Yo, those are my goats!'” he said.It all unfolded around 9:30 a.m. Monday, when drivers had to do a double take.”We were getting off the Reavis Road exit, going southbound on 421,” Ryan Hudson said. “We got to the top of the ramp — we saw a herd of goats up there!”Ryan and Tiffany Hudson corralled the goats, with Tiffany Hudson running after them. She’s a former vet tech.They called in reinforcements from law enforcement to help. “They were going as hard as they could down that ramp,” said Ryan Hudson. “So I called the sheriff … and I asked him, I was like, ‘What do we need to do about this?’ He’s like, ‘Well, I’m dispatching people right now.'”With the help of the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office, the Yadkinville Police Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the goats were led to the Tractor Supply Company on State Street until they were picked up by their owners.”I was in shock — I was honestly in shock,” Durham said. “I said, ‘You know, out of all things, this would happen in Yadkin County, North Carolina — goats being on 421.’ Little did I know, they’d be our goats.”While the situation could’ve been bad, all the goats made it back home safely.”I’m glad you guys got a good laugh out of it,” Durham said. “I was not expecting it, but I hope you enjoy the goats as much as we do.”Durham said the goats follow his mother absolutely everywhere she goes. They were chasing her as she made her way to the beach Monday.They have destroyed the fence and are temporarily being kept in a gated area where they can’t escape again while their fence is repaired.As for Tiffany and Ryan Hudson, they say they’re being recognized as the people in the video all over the place.
