A person was arrested Wednesday morning after police said they broke into a restaurant in St. Albans City.The St. Albans Police Department received a call about a burglary at the Maple City Diner just before 3 a.m. and spoke with the owner of the restaurant, who told police they could see an unknown person inside the building on their surveillance system.Police were able to arrest the suspect, 26-year-old Kristen Yerry, who is homeless. They also recovered several items that had been removed from the diner.Yerry was charged with burglary and sent to the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington for lack of $5,000 bail.Police said Yerry has seven previous failure to appear violations.The break-in is the latest in a series of burglaries in St. Albans over the past week. Those include a burglary at Martha’s Community Kitchen on Monday and a series of incidents at From Scratch, as well as drug use outside of the St. Albans Free Library.
