Frontier Airlines is bringing two new nonstop flights to Florida from Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport, or BTV, later this year.The budget airline announced Tuesday that it will offer nonstop flights to Orlando International Airport and Tampa International Airport beginning Dec. 20.The flights to Orlando will be offered four times a week, and flights to Tampa will be offered three times a week.The airline is also offering promotional fares of $49 to both airports if tickets are purchased before Oct. 7.Burlington Airport Director Nic Longo said Florida is one of the most popular destinations out of Burlington, and he is excited that there will soon be more affordable options for travelers.”Florida is our number one destination that we have out of BTV. Even through connections, Frontier’s commitment to the low fares and excellent service makes it a perfect fit for our community and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them back,” Longo said.Frontier is the latest airline to begin offering flights out of BTV following a series of nonstop flights from Breeze Airways that began flying out of the airport earlier this year.In other news, BTV will also be revealing a new mascot later this month on Oct. 12.
