SUNY Plattsburgh launches new ‘ACE Program’ to support students in earning degrees
The program provides participating students with access to counseling, textbook assistance, and a monthly stipend for transportation and groceries
SUNY Plattsburgh has introduced a new initiative aimed at helping students complete their degrees. The program, called the ‘ACE Program’ — Advancing Completion through Engagement — offers eligible students a range of resources designed to support their academic success.The ACE Program provides participating students with access to counseling, textbook assistance, and a monthly stipend for transportation and groceries.Karen McGrath, Vice President of Student Enrollment and Student Success at SUNY Plattsburgh, highlighted the importance of the program, stating, “These programs help to close the opportunity gaps between different student subgroups, and these have also been found to be cost-effective and actually demonstrate strong returns, both for students and for campuses.”Currently, more than 200 SUNY Plattsburgh students are enrolled in the ACE Program, and it is also available at 24 other SUNY institutions across the state.
