A Burlington man was charged with aggravated assault after police said he attacked a person with a knife.Police responded to a dog park near Lake Street on Thursday afternoon after they received a call about a fight involving a knife.When officers arrived on the scene, they located a victim bleeding with lacerations to the chest and wrist. The victim was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Shawn Dudley and arrested him for the attack after seizing a folding knife. Police also learned that Dudley had violated his conditions of release that prevented him from possessing any weapons.Dudley’s criminal history includes one felony conviction and three misdemeanor convictions, including simple assault.He was arrested back in February 2023 and charge with custodial interference and resisting arrest.
