A night of fun and fear found its way to Rutland County on Friday. The Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Department held its annual haunted hayride at the Windy Acres Farm.The funds from the event will be used to get new lifesaving equipment for the firefighters.Tiffany Austin, the fifth-generation owner of the farm, says this is its second year, and it takes a lot of people to pull one of these off.She says it’s worth it for the small rural community to come together and to give back to the department.”It’s not just the department; it takes quite the crew to get something like this up and going. It’s just something simple to set up and make everybody scream!” said Austin.There will be another hayride Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m.
