The University of Vermont men’s basketball team utilized a strong first half of play to close out Northeastern University down the stretch. A 35-22 first half in favor of the Catamounts secured their second straight win and their fifth win of the season in a 68-64 victory over the Huskies. Vermont was led by TJ Hurley on offense, who led the team with 23 points, including scoring 10 of Vermont’s first 12 points of the game. He also made shots at an efficient rate, hitting 6-14 from the field and 3-6 in three-pointers made. Jace Roquemore also chipped in with 13 points, scoring 10 of those points in the first half. Roquemore only took five shots, but was efficent with them, only missing one including shooting 2-3 from beyond the arc. Illeri Ayo-Faleye played a major role on defense, leading the team in rebounds with seven, and also blocking seven shots as well. He was the next Catamount to score in double figures with 10 points.
