The women were residents of a home in the mobile home park where a fire had broken out on Sunday.The autopsy determined that Wade died of blunt force trauma to the head, and Lindsay died of strangulation. Both deaths were ruled as homicides.Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie said Hewett was in a relationship with Wade.Hewett was arrested on the evidence tampering charge on Sunday amid an investigation into the missing persons report for both women. Court documents show that Hewett had sent messages from Wade’s phone to family members on Dec. 9 in an attempt to alter the investigation into her disappearance.Hewett is a registered sex offender who’s address is listed as 2 Birch Street, the same home where Wade and Lindsay lived at the Abenaki Mobile Home Park in Plattsburgh. Multiple agencies were at the mobile home park Monday and some investigators returned on Tuesday to continue their search following the discovery of the bodies.Editor’s note: The official death certificate lists the older person allegedly killed by Hewett as Karen A.
