Excitement was in the air at Patrick Gym as fans got ready to see the Harlem Globetrotters take on the Washington Generals. “I’m their biggest fan in Vermont,” said Tom, who was seeing the team in person for the first time. It’s going to be fun.”Some were returning, ready to see the signature moves that make the team famous worldwide. “It’s so fun. They do trick shots from the stands. You get tons of autographs,” said Gunner. “It’s real nice. It’s a great experience.”Those interactions gave fans a chance to see the tricks up close and personal. “It’s just really cool how they interact with you, especially if you’re, like, close,” Addy said. “They’ll interact with you, or you’ll get to do tricks yourself. It’s really cool.”For some, this is their first time seeing the team play, and they were ready to take it all in “This is my first time,” Jordan said. “I’m really excited.” Some of the youngest say they’re going to take all of the tricks they learned back to their own basketball team. “I’m going to go behind the legs. Crossover. Ankle-breaker,” Gunner said. Jordan added, “Ankle breaker, but hit the three.”
