Fresh off a win for Bolton High School’s boys’ basketball team, the girls’ team secured a win the following night. No. 16 Bolton picked up a 43-37 win at home against No. 11 Schroon Lake High School. After scoring 17 points in the first half, the Eagles flipped the script in the second half, scoring 26, which secured their 7th win of the season. The Eagles were led by Ella Hens, who scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half while cashing in four three-pointers. Maille Kelly and Jadynn Egloff chipped in with nine and eight points, respectively. The Wildcats were led by Carly Smith, who scored a team-high 11 points. Olivia Hartwell chipped in with nine points. Bolton extended their record to 7-1, with their only loss coming against ranked Class C squad No. 20 Ticonderoga high school. Schroon Lake fell to a 4-3 record after the loss. Ticonderoga was also in action in girls’ basketball taking on Plattsburgh high school. The Sentinels nearly erased a 25-13 deficit at the end of the first half but fell short in a 46-41 finish.The Hornets were led by Bailey Hewson, who poured in a team-high 13 points. Hewson scored 10 of those 13 points in the second half alone. Essynce Gorham also chipped in with 12 points. The Sentinels were led by Addy Moore who finished with 10 points. Keirra Bechard’s activity on the offensive boards helped her finish with eight points, while Sophia Johndrow added in seven points. Ticonderoga falls to 7-3 on the season while Plattsburgh picked up its second win of the season extending its record to 2-5.
