VT-108 in Stowe is now open to all traffic between Notchbrook Road and the Stowe Mountain Resort on Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into an underground propane tank, causing a hazardous materials spill, according to Stowe interim police Chief Francis Gonyaw.It was shut down for several hours while crews worked to clean up the spill. Residents near Spruce Peak Resort and those staying in condominiums near the Lodge at Spruce Peak were told to evacuate following the crash and propane leak on VT-108. The Vermont Agency of Transportation sent an alert just after 5 p.m. saying that the crash and subsequent propane leak were near the toll road on VT-108. The road was closed to all traffic at Notchbrook Road for uphill traffic and to downhill traffic at the Inn at the Mountain.No injuries were reported.The Vermont HAZMAT Response Team was dispatched to clean up the spill.
