Flights between Reagan and Burlington canceled after mid-air collision near Washington, D.C.
According to the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport website, 3 American Airlines flights between DCA and BTV were canceled for Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
A jet with 60 passengers and four crew members aboard collided Wednesday with an Army helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) near Washington, prompting a large search-and-rescue operation in the nearby Potomac River.Authorities say the flight had departed from Wichita, Kansas, around 9. p.m., and was headed for Reagan when it crashed. Flight tracking data shows that the aircraft was supposed to fly to Burlington.
