
Some spent their Presidents Day weekend watching the flakes fall by the warmth of a fire, others worked around the clock to dig their neighbors out of a nearly foot of fresh powder.”We started at 1 a.m.” said lifelong St. Johnsbury native Blake Jenkins.A painting contractor by day, Jenkins and his team of 35 guys were out after dark Monday morning, clearing snow off the roads.Jenkins was not the only one helping city crews clear the roads.Building contractor Bernard Timson spent his Monday plowing as well to rake in some extra cash and clean up the snow that he believes the state will benefit from in the long run.”The snow has brought people into the area, which then brings money into the area,” Timson said.Bernard says he is happy to help the city he has lived in for 70 years brave the winter months any way he can.”Our town boys work hard,” Timson said. “They do a real great job. I can’t criticize them at all.”Officials say to make sure you have winter tires on your car if you do not yet, and drive carefully while crews finish up on the roads.
