‘You’ll live in our hearts forever’: U.S. Border Patrol agent David “Chris” Maland’s family prepares to lay him to rest
U.S. Border Patrol Agent David “Chris” Maland will be laid to rest today. In honor of the agent who was killed in the line of duty in Vermont, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has ordered flags to fly at half-staff Saturday. In a statement Maland’s family sent to NBC5, they said “Chris was a loving son, brother, uncle, fiancé and dedicated colleague. His kind heart and fighting soul made him a warm and inviting person to be around and a pillar of strength for his county. We love you, Chris. You’ll live in our hearts forever.”The service honoring Maland will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
