
Several crews battled a large house fire in Brattleboro on Sunday night.The Brattleboro Fire Department said they were notified of a fire at a home on South Main Street just before 10 p.m.Firefighters were unable to enter the home due to debris on the front lawn and in front of the door to the home.Backup was called to help contain the fire, and the scene was deemed under control in an hour.The sole occupant of the home was able to escape without any injury. Volunteers with the American Red Cross are providing them with temporary housing.One firefighter suffered a minor injury on scene but received treatment and was able to continue working, according to officials.The home sustained heavy fire and water damage.
