
The University of Vermont and the union representing staff members have approved a new contract agreement, officials said Tuesday.The agreement, which was approved by the UVM board of trustees and ratified by the union’s membership, covers the next three years and includes pay increases for staff, as well as enhanced employee benefits, the notice said. That means staff will see a base salary increase of 4% retroactive to July 1, 2024, as well as a future 3.75% pay increase effective July 2025.An additional 3.5% increase will occur the following July.The minimum wage is also increasing to $20.80, with a jump to $21.58 set for July 2025. The minimum wage will increase to $22.34 in July 2026.Staff are also set to receive bonuses based on how many years of employment they have.”This new contract demonstrates a sincere, mutual commitment to this important relationship and sets the stage for more shared success over the next three years of working together,” said UVM Chief Human Resources Officer Chris Lehman in a prepared statement.
