
Summer may feel far away, but it’s less than two months until the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. On Wednesday, it announced its lineup.International jazz artist, composer and producer Anthony Tidd is this year’s curator.The lineup includes performances from local artist Kat Wright and the Roy Hargrove Big Band. South Burlington High School and University of Vermont grad Rachel Ambaye will lead a quartet at the Vermont Comedy Club, which will be transforming into Big Joe’s every night of the festival. There will also be a special tribute to Alice Coltrane. High school jazz bands will also be performing, featuring over 1,000 students. Tidd says there will be something for everyone.”Jazz is in everything, literally everything. Saying that you don’t like jazz is like saying you don’t like music,” Tidd told NBC5. “There’s a bit of jazz in everything from country music to doo-wop music to pop music. It’s all there.” The festival runs from June 4 to June 8.
