Five arrested in Rutland, Vermont drug bust

Five people are in custody after drug bust that spanned two homes in Rutland.The Rutland City Police Department said they executed a search warrant at an apartment on Williams Street on Thursday. The warrant was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.Then, later in the day, police raided an apartment on Curtis Avenue, where they found more guns and illegal drugs.Five people were arrested during the incident. They were listed as:Guadalupe Vargas, 42, of Los Angeles, CAElijah Wright, 19, of West Hills, CADejaneiro McDaniel, 19, of Lancaster, CADaryl Brown, 33, of Las Vegas, NVJohn Cadogan, 39, of Rutland City All five were charged with various drug crimes including distribution of controlled substances and drug trafficking. Police seized a number of guns and drugs from the home.One suspect, Daryl Brown, was also charged with possession of large capacity ammunition feeding devices and defacing firearms serial numbers.
