
One man is injured following a shooting near the Barnes & Noble on Dorset Street. Saturday afternoon, the South Burlington Police Department said there is no ongoing threat to the public.Just before noon, dispatch received multiple calls for a man with a firearm and shots fired near the bookseller. Once they arrived, police were diverted to the Market Street near Dattilio Drive where callers said a man was injured on the sidewalk. Crews were on the scene within minutes and provided life-saving care. The man was taken to the UVM Medical Center and is in stable condition. Police believe the shooting stemmed from a prior altercation between the two men, saying there is no indication of a random attack. Police described the suspect as a black man wearing a black t-shirt and a black baseball cap.
