One dead in Fayston fatal crash, driver in custody police say
Officials say 19-year-old Florida driver is facing charges
One person is dead, and another is in custody after a car struck a pedestrian in Fayston. According to Vermont State Police, 19-year-old Noah Kirson of Winter Park, Florida, was driving on Mansfield Road toward Vermont Route 17 Saturday just after 1 p.m. when he left the road and struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Kirson was taken into custody and charged with gross negligent operation with death resulting. He is being held at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility and is set to appear in court on Monday.
