
An active police chase involving a reportedly stolen Chevy truck ended in a crash in Fair Haven today, according to Vermont State Police.Officials say the chase began at 8:20 a.m. Saturday morning on US Route 4 near the Exit 2 on-ramp in Fair Haven. The pursuit started when a Fair Haven police officer tried to pull over a 2006 Chevy Silverado for speeding. Police later learned the vehicle had been reported stolen from a home in Shaftsbury on June 22nd. The two vehicles collided when the driver – who police have yet to identify – lost control of the truck while trying to take the on-ramp onto Route 4. After crashing, he fled on food.The police officer was not injured and his vehicle sustained moderate front end damage, while the reportedly stolen Chevy saw significant damage.The incident remains under investigation by Vermont State Police.
