ICE officer arrested in Florida Keys, accused of DUI and child endangerment
An off-duty ICE agent was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the Florida Keys after being accused of driving under the influence and child endangerment. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call around 3:24 p.m., reporting a vehicle driving recklessly on U.S. Highway 1 near Big Pine Key. Deputies then observed the reported car driving into oncoming traffic and swerving heavily.Deputies then conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver of the car as Scott Deiseroth, 42, of Miami, Florida. Deiseroth then self-identified himself as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.Deputies say Deiseroth smelled strongly of alcohol and that he could not correctly identify where he was or where he was going.Additionally, deputies also found two children, ages 7 and 9, in the car with Deiseroth.After failing field sobriety tests, Deiseroth was arrested, and the two children were turned over to a family member.Deiseroth faces one charge of driving under the influence and two charges of child endangerment.
