Heavy rain for some Thursday night, leftover showers on Halloween
The nice fall weather continues on Wednesday, with a partly sunny sky and highs in the mid-50s.An area of low pressure tracks nearby late week. Passing showers are likely during the daytime hours Thursday, especially over New York. Then, a round of steady rain develops Thursday evening and night with some embedded downpours, especially south and east.By Friday morning, over 1″ of rain is likely from the St. Lawrence Valley, points west. Another enhanced area of 1–2″+ is likely from southeastern Vermont into New Hampshire. Areas in between can expect closer to 0.5″. Overall, more beneficial rain regionwide!Friday (Halloween) won’t be a washout, but scattered showers linger through the day under a mainly cloudy sky. Highs reach the low 50s.A gusty west wind develops on the back side of the storm, especially late Friday into Saturday.This weekend likely starts with a few leftover showers on Saturday.
