
Voters in Ticonderoga overwhelmingly rejected building a new fire station in their community this week.The project was expected to cost nearly $18 million. The vote ultimately failed, with 376 No votes and just over 200 Yes votes.In a statement released by the Ticonderoga Town-Village Joint Fire District, officials said they are grateful for the community turnout but were disappointed that the facility was not approved. They went on to say that the new fire station is “sorely needed.”The district said it will continue to pursue a way to fund a new facility in the coming months. Officials said they will take all the public feedback they have received into consideration.
