
In its 27th year of spreading the holiday cheer, the CPKC holiday train is here and also spreading awareness for food insecurity.As it rolls through the North Country once again on Nov. 26, stops will begin at the Amtrak station in Fort Edward at 2:45 p.m. and Port Henry at 5:45 p.m. It will then make its way to Plattsburgh, stopping at 7:50 p.m. and then Rouses Point at 9:30 p.m.The train raises money and collects food, supporting local community food banks and families who are in need. Since 1999, it has raised over $26 million and has collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food.The cost is free as CPKC encourages attendees to make a heart-healthy food donation with food banks accepting items at each stop.
