Lane closed on Route 108 in Stowe due to crash
Police said the incident was expected to last several hours
Police closed one lane of Route 108 in Stowe on Saturday morning following a crash.The incident happened just before 8 a.m. near Brook Road. NBC5 reached out to the Stowe Police Department. Officers said the driver struck a utility pole, snapping it in half.Police said it would take several hours to clean up the area, and drivers should expect delays.Route 108, also known as the Access Road, is the main route to Stowe Mountain Resort. The crash comes ahead of a busy weekend for resorts in Vermont and New York. Several mountains traditionally open in the days after Thanksgiving, but this year many ski areas, including Stowe, opened earlier than expected because of early-season snow.
