A mix of sleet and freezing rain likely develops in the St. Lawrence Valley and through the colder hollows of southern Vermont. Plain raindrops may mix with snow early Wednesday morning in the Champlain Valley.Snow showers will linger through most of Wednesday, ending as mountain snow showers by Wednesday evening. A brief round of light snow is possible in the Champlain Valley as the system pulls away late. Travel impacts are likely during the Wednesday morning commute — mainly east of the Green Mountains where wet snow will linger.Locally icy roads are possible across the St. Lawrence Valley and pockets of far southern Vermont, where a glaze of freezing rain may add up.Several inches of wet snow will fall through Wednesday, tapering to mountain snow showers by Wednesday night.
