
Two people have been arrested after police said they broke into a home in Highgate last month and held the residents at gunpoint.Vermont State Police arrested Swanton residents Eric Smith, 41, and his girlfriend, Sabrena Murray, 31, on Wednesday at a home in Swanton.Investigators said the pair were responsible for breaking into a home on Cook Road in Highgate on Dec. 3 and threatening the residents with a weapon. The pair are also accused of stealing valuables from the victims.Smith is charged with burglary, assault and robbery. He is being held on $10,000 bail.Murray is charged with burglary, aiding in the commission of a felony, possession of stolen property and providing false information to a police officer. She is being held on $2,500 bail.Both Smith and Murray were due in court on Thursday to answer to a judge.
