Athletes get 2 runs, the fastest combined score wins. Now Shiffrin was the top ranked American at 7th after the first run, with Paula Moulton and Nina O’Brien making the top 30. AJ Hirt clipped *** gate and was out of the race. Shiffrin needed to drop major time on the 2nd run to have *** shot at the podium. She rallied in the last gates, but it wasn’t enough. Italy gets gold. Sweden and Norway tie for silver. From start to finish, my powerful. Turns and no matter how many times I’ve won in slalom, it doesn’t get easier. It only gets harder, more precise. The level of the competition gets higher. It just wasn’t quite the execution I wanted to bring. I made some better turns second round, which I’m happy with, but for sure it’s *** little bit of fire going into the slalom. I’ll try to bring my best.
