
North Country community organizes “Throw for Reese” benefit to help out a teenager involved in a car accident.Fourteen-year-old Reese LeMay was in a car accident on Jan. 23 that took the lives of her mother and her mother’s boyfriend.LeMay is now recovering from injuries she sustained in the crash.To help her through this difficult time, people in Northern New York are hosting a benefit to raise money for LeMay and her family.”As a parent, it’s hard to hear that any child is suffering any type of loss or hurt,” said Joan Hozley, one of the event organizers. “As a community, you can either look away or you can lean in. Our community really chose to lean in, and it’s turned into a way bigger event than we were expecting.””I get goosebumps thinking of all the people that have reached out that don’t know her, even that are just praying and just can’t wait to show up on Saturday,” said Jamiee Douglas, another organizer.”Throw for Reese” is taking place on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Memorial VFW Post 1505 in Keeseville.
