Virginia Giuffre’s family set to attend the State of the Union

The Justice Department under fire tonight facing criticism for over-redacting information about individuals who may have aided Jeffrey Epstein. In *** 2014 email released in the files, *** person writes to Epstein, quote, Thank you for *** fun night. Your littlest girl was *** little naughty, but the identity of the individual who wrote that message is redacted. And in this image of Epstein’s inner circle from the file. We see associates like convicted co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell and Epstein’s assistant Leslie Groff, but several others in the graphic are blacked out. The release files also showed numerous email exchanges that appear to describe the procurement of women. New Brazilian just arrived, sexy and cute, 19 years old. *** 2013 email to Epstein reads from someone at *** Paris modeling agency. That sender’s name redacted. I found at least three very good young poor. *** 2018 email to Epstein reads, Meet this one, the person continues, not the beauty queen, but we both liked her *** lot. This sender’s name also redacted. *** DOJ official said in *** statement to CNN. Any fully redacted names are of victims. In many instances that it has been well documented publicly, those who were. Originally victims became participants and co-conspirators. We did not redact any names of men, only female victims. Names of law enforcement officers were also among the redactions. Also included in the released Epstein files, *** highly controversial draft indictment from the 2000s that would have charged Epstein along with three others. They were described as having been employed by Epstein and having conspired. To persuade, induce, and entice individuals who had not attained the age of 18 years to engage in prostitution. Their names are redacted. So you have *** Justice Department that’s leadership cared more about protecting the men who committed these crimes than the survivors who were victims of the crime. The law that forced the DOJ to release the Epstein files mandates the DOJ to make certain redactions such as identifying. Information about victims and child pornography. Some individuals who helped connect Epstein with young women were also victims. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche acknowledging errors were made and that his department is working around the clock to correct failures to redact victims’ information. You’re talking about pieces of paper that stacked from the ground to two Eiffel Towers, and so the minute that *** victim or their lawyer reached out. To us since Friday, we immediately dealt with it and pulled it down, and we’re continuing to do that. We knew that there would be mistakes. Epstein’s survivors are outraged. Publishing images of victims while shielding predators, it’s just *** failure of complete justice. Why should anybody come forward? Because the justice system is not going to be the justice system. MJ Lee, CNN, Washington DC.

Reps. Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Suhas Subramanyam of Virginia announced that Sky and Amanda Roberts, the brother and sister-in-law of the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre, will be their guests to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address tomorrow. Sky and Amanda will watch the speech from the gallery above the House Floor.Related video above: Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein are voicing their opposition regarding redaction concerns“Virginia Roberts Giuffre bravely pursued justice for the victims and accountability for the perpetrators of the horrific crimes committed against girls and young women by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and other upper-class abusers who took part in the pair’s vicious trafficking ring,” Raskin said in a statement. “I’m grateful Sky and Amanda Roberts accepted our offer to honor Virginia’s memory and lead a chorus of voices from across America and the world demanding truth and justice, the opposite of what Donald Trump and Pam Bondi have been working for in their shocking coverup.”Subramanyam added, “Well before this Congressional investigation, Virginia Roberts Giuffre stood up against the rich and powerful, and gave a voice to the thousands of Epstein victims. Our investigation is about getting justice for the victims and ensuring something like this never happens again. The Trump administration is fighting our push for justice at every step with a cover up. It is an honor to bring Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s family as our guests for the State of the Union to be a visible reminder to Trump that we’re not giving in or giving up.”Raskin and Subramanyam hope that Giuffre’s family’s attendance will bring attention to the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files.Subramanyam was one of the members of Congress to write to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Prince Andrew, “to request that he submit to questioning by the Oversight Committee as part of the ongoing probe into Jeffrey Epstein, his accomplices, and enablers.” (Andrew ignored the request; he has always denied any wrongdoing and all allegations against him.)Giuffre died by suicide in 2025. She repeatedly claimed that she was forced to have sex with the then-Prince while she was underage, and in 2021, she filed a case against him. Andrew has always denied the allegations, saying in his infamous 2019 TV interview he had no memory of meeting her, but settled the case out of court in 2022.Last week, upon Andrew’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office, Giuffre’s family wrote, “Today, our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one is above the law, not even royalty. On behalf of our sister, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, we extend our gratitude to the U.K.’s Thames Valley Police for their investigation and arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. He was never a prince. For survivors everywhere, Virginia did this for you.”
