
The University of Vermont men’s and women’s lacrosse teams closed out February with two dominant wins at Virtue Field. The UVM men’s lacrosse team started the day with a high-octane offensive performance against Quinnipiac University. The Catamounts scored at least three goals or more per quarter, leading to a 15-8 victory over the Bobcats. Max Frattaroli led the Vermont offense, tallying a game-high four goals. Zack Toll also finished with a hat trick, while Walter Zhao and Luke Reiter each added a pair of goals apiece. UVM split time in goal in this game, with Ryan Daly and JP Kosakowski each playing a half of action. They combined for eight saves apiece. Daly allowed the lower number of goals and picked up the most saves between the two, with five saves and three goals allowed. The women’s team scored over 20 times, leading to a 22-7 victory for them against Long Island University. Caitlin Haggerty led the offense with a game-high five goals, scoring four of those goals in the first half alone. Jane Trauger and Karina Sethi both added four goals apiece, while Lydia Doraz also added three goals of her own. BFA St. Albans high school graduate Ayla Shea also had a solid performance in her fourth start of the season in net. She tallied five saves in the seven goals she allowed in the UVM victory.
