New documents show that one of Jeffrey Epstein’s prison guards did an internet search of him minutes before he was found dead in his jail cell. According to the Department of Justice, correctional officer Tova Noel did a Google search that said “latest on Epstein in jail” at 5:42 in the morning and again at 5:52 on Aug. 10, 2019. That’s less than 40 minutes before Epstein was reported to be found dead in his cell. Past reports say he was discovered by Officer Noel and another officer while delivering breakfast. Both officers were accused of falsifying prison logs to claim they checked on Epstein throughout the night. Both officers were later fired, but the criminal charges against them were dropped. While Epstein’s death was ruled a suicide, his death in custody still sparked widespread scrutiny on how he was being monitored.
