They spent the night raising money for the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital’s Big Change Roundup campaign.It’s an effort that hits close to home for Krystal. Her son was born prematurely and spent some long hours in the hospital before going home happy and healthy.”You never know what could happen. You never know when it could be you. Whether it’s birth, an accident, an injury, or an illness. Anything can happen,” Larose said. Brianna Cook said she would not have missed the fundraiser. She had her own close call within the first few weeks of her son’s birth.”One morning, he woke up, and we had to rush him to the ER. He wasn’t drinking, he wasn’t eating,” Cook said. It’s care that she says, saved her son’s life.”This means so much to us. We want to give back to what they gave to us. It means a lot,” Cook said.Dozens showed up to support the cause, enter raffles, and of course, dance.On May 1, Krystal will deliver a donation check to the hospital with all the money that is earned.”It’s a really unexpected experience,” Larose said. “If I can do just a little bit to help the families experience a little bit of relief in any way, that’s why I do it.”You can also donate online.
