A woman is dead after a fire in a Hinesburg apartment on Sunday night.Crews were called to the scene around 6:20 p.m. after a neighbor reported smoke from a unit at 245 Lyman Avenue, according to Vermont State Police.There were moderate smoke and fire conditions when first responders arrived. After containing the blaze, they found the woman dead.Her identity is not being released, pending further investigation and notification of the family. Police do not believe the blaze to be suspicious. An investigator from the Department of Public Safety Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit is expected on Monday to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The Bureau of Criminal Investigations will do a death investigation. The victim’s body was taken to the chief medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
