The year has undoubtedly been a tough year for many, but one man from Rockwell in northern Iowa is spreading some holiday cheer.Pat Hurley joined TikTok to start a “Like it to win it” campaign, which is aiming to give gifts to those in need across the country. It all started when Hurley sponsored children at the Youth Social Services organization in Mason City. He even started a “Secret Santa” program for teenagers but wanted to do more this holiday season. So now he has a garage full of gifts and toys that he is giving away to people across the nation. In just two days his TikTok account has more than 4,700 followers and he’s hoping his effort continues to grow. “I want to reach more people. I want more people to be a part of this,” said Hurley. “I want to spread joy, smiles and happiness. Let them know that even though 2020 sucks, this too shall pass. There are still good people out there.” YSS Francis Lauer released a statement saying “We thank Pat for his vision and generosity and wish him the best in spreading holiday cheer throughout the country!”
