A man was seriously hurt Sunday morning after being shot in Vergennes, according to the Vergennes Police Department.Police said the shooting happened at a home on First Street at around 9:30 a.m.The victim was rushed to Porter Hospital before being airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment for what police called serious injuries.Officers said they arrested Raymond White, of Vergennes, and an investigation is underway, but there’s no danger to the public.They said White would be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was set to be arraigned in court Monday.The Vergennes Police Department was said to be getting help from both Vermont State Police and the Addison County State’s Attorney’s office.Police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to give them a call at (802) 877-1152.
