Third graders from Fletcher Elementary School in Cambridge want your old, used holiday cards. They’re collecting the cards for Saint Jude Children’s research hospital. Once students get the cards, they count, sort and process them. After they’re done, they will mail the cards to the hospital where the organization recycles them and sells them.That money goes back to children’s cancer research and care. The school principal said this is a lesson that goes beyond the classroom.”Really our goal is to get the most bang for our buck with our time with students. So, if we can do a project like this that supports the community and promotes our expectations that people are caring and teaching our academic requirements at the same time.
