in your monday motivation. NOW THAT THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER. WHAT ARE YOU GOING T DO WITH ALL THOSE áOLD, áUSED HOLIDAY CARDS? WHY NOT RECYCLE THEM AND DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOUR COMMUNITY? 3RD GRADERS AT FLETCHER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL…AR WORKING TO HELP SAINT JUDE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL BY COLLECTING OLD HOLIDAY CARDS. ONCE STUDENTS GET THE CARDS.. THEY COUNT, SORT, PROCESS THEN THEN THEY’LL MAIL THEM TO SAINT JUDE…. WHERE THE ORGANIZATION RECYCLES AND SELLS THEM. THAT MONEY GOES BACK to CANCER RESEARCH AND CARE. Third graders from Fletcher Elementary School in Cambridge want your old, used holiday cards. They’re collecting the cards for Saint Jude Children’s research hospital. Once students get the cards, they count, sort and process them. After they’re done, they will mail the cards to the hospital where the organization recycles them and sells them.That money goes back to children’s cancer research and care. The school principal said this is a lesson that goes beyond the classroom.”Really our goal is to get the most bang for our buck with our time with students. So, if we can do a project like this that supports the community and promotes our expectations that people are caring and teaching our academic requirements at the same time. That’s what we’re going for,” said Chris Dodge, Fletcher Elementary School principal.Last year students collected more than 5,000 cards. Their goal this year is to get more than 6,000.
