Thursday brings rain to New York and the western half of Vermont. Meanwhile, along the Vermont/New Hampshire border, it should stay dry during the day Thursday.Heavy, wet snow is expected in the mountains Thursday night into Friday. Just plain rain is expected in the Champlain Valley.The bullseye for snow will be in the mountains of southern Vermont, where 6-12″ or more of snow is expected. Perfect timing for Mount Snow’s closing weekend.Over the higher parts of the Adirondacks, it looks more like 3-6″ of snow, with some upward potential.The Interstate 91 corridor in southern Vermont remains a very tough forecast given the low elevation.
