COVID kills three more in north country

CANTON, New York (WWNY) – Another two people in St. Lawrence County have lost their lives to COVID-19, and another person has died from the virus in Jefferson County.

St. Lawrence County

St. Lawrence County Public Health statistics for the weekend and Monday show two more deaths – the county’s total is now 122 – and another 133 cases.

There are 412 active cases in the county now – that’s an improvement from Friday when the number was 455 – and a total of 10,863 cases in St. Lawrence County since the pandemic began last March.

Hospitalizations are up by three, to 18.

Jefferson County

In Jefferson County, another 144 cases were reported from the weekend.

The additional death brings the total number of deaths in Jefferson County since the pandemic began to 91.

Hospitalizations are up three from Friday, to 18.

The number of people in “mandatory isolation” ticked up by two, from 422 to 424.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 9,311 COVID cases in Jefferson County.

Lewis County

Lewis County reported no new deaths, but 39 new cases from the weekend. The total number of cases since the pandemic began is 2,952.

The number of people in isolation is 118, down two from Friday, and the number of people hospitalized is five, down one from Friday.
